Our Setting

Our Team

Our team of early years practitioners are highly valued and recognised as our best resource in supporting children's learning and development.   Our small team are highly qualified and experienced with a wide range of skills.  We are ambitious and strive to always improve, we take part in our own professional development programme consisting of regular in house training, coaching and attending training courses.  This commitment to continuing professional development extends our knowledge and understanding of theory and develops our teaching skills to ensure we offer inspirational learning opportunities for our children.  We love what we do and aim to provide the best for every child.

We are led by a qualified Early Years Teacher (L6) and all of our team hold or are working towards a relevant level 3 qualification in early years education.  Two members of staff are also qualified to level 4 and one holds a foundation degree in early years education.   All staff are also qualified in first aid, food and hygiene, safeguarding and child protection.

"Practitioners are highly skilled and sensitive to children's needs. They work very well together to fully support children to feel safe and secure in the pre-school. Practitioners have very high expectations for what children can achieve and support them to make the best possible progress."

Our Outdoor Classroom

Our wrap-around garden provides the perfect place for our children to run, play and explore.  Children have daily access to the outdoors and can 'free flow' inside and out during the majority of the day.  We have an all weather covered area canopy area, a playground with safety surface and our 'forest garden' with mud kitchen, digging areas and a vegetable patch.

Our Indoor Classrooms

The room has a variety of play spaces which provide the children with lots of to explore, learn and develop new skills and knowledge.  We have an art area where children can experiment with mark making and create their own artwork.  There are quiet, cosy corners for children to rest or snuggle up with a book as well as small world and role play areas where imaginations come to life.  We encourage and support all children's independence and so we arrange the environment so they can choose and access the resources they would like to play with.

Our Story

Mappleborough Green Pre-School was established over 30yrs ago and started life as a small community pre-school in the church at Mappleborough Green. After several years on the site of Mappleborough Green School the group moved to bigger premises at Winyates Green Community Centre.  This move enabled our group to grow and offer our provision to more families.  It also gave us access to our own fantastic outdoor play space and over the years we have developed our passion for outdoor play which now forms the basis of our setting.

We are registered with OFSTED.  Registration no. EY424743

We are proud to be members of the Early Year Alliance.
